Situated in Mimice, Waterview Apartments provides accommodation with a heated private pool with sea and mountain views.
We have 3 apartments, the Fantail and the Tui which are New Zealand native birds and since 2020 the Koru Apartment. Koru stands for “new life” and “new beginnings” in New Zealand Maori which is fitting as we have moved from New Zealand to make a home in Croatia at the end of 2018.
All three apartments have 1 bedroom and the possibility to house 1 or 2 guests on comfortable sofa beds complemented with a topper. If 2 sofabeds are to be made up for 2 individual guests it needs mentioning that the lounge space becomes less comfortable.
The apartments feature a patio between the Tui and the Fantail whilst the Koru has a sitting area in front.
There is a sundeck area next to the pool, two more terraces are in other areas of the property which has spacious grounds. Watching the sunset from the top terraces is magical with a view of the old town and the island of Brać in the background. We have our own private carpark with one space per apartment available.
The apartments have a flat-screen tv, airconditioning and the Fantail has a smaller kitchenette, a bathroom with shower, the Tui has a shower over a bath with a larger kitchen area whilst the Koru has a large kitchen and bathroom with walk in shower.
As owners we love the space, the backdrop of the mountains, the view over the Adriatic Sea and the island of Brać which can be seen from most locations on the property.
May and June are perfect months to come as they are not as busy (the sea warms up nicely by the end of April) and lying on the beach is a definite possibility. July and August are the hottest and busiest months in Croatia. September and October are beautiful and perfect for a relaxing holiday with a warm sea but one has to be aware less restaurants etc are open.
We have two kayaks for hire at a small price (drop off and pick up included) and are able to arrange a private boattrip for a reasonable price.
We want guests to feel welcome and are happy to help or book tours available.
Languages spoken by the hosts are English, German and Dutch.
Steve and Hermien arrived from New Zealand in Croatia in December 2018 to start up the accommodation business.
Hermien has previously had years of hospitality and hotel management experience in places such as Australia, South Africa and New Zealand and Steve loves working with tools and fixing things.
We love socialising, nature and many other things. Croatia has so far not disappointed although we find the language to be extremely difficult.
Mimice is a great place as it is just out of the really busy hub of Omis and there are many lovely strips of beaches one can get to by parking up and walking down… Mimice has some lovely restaurants, a cafe, pizzaria and lots of art work (stone statues one finds in the strangest places), a busy little marina with cute bars and outside terraces, boat trips and that all within 10 minutes walking distance.
There is also Makarska about 25 minutes away on the Makarska Riviera. There are many lovely little villages to visit closeby whether on the sea or inland if one wants to go on a Tiki Tour…..
The beach is an easy stroll away at about +/- 10minutes and if not up to a walk, jump in the car and drive down and stop anywhere in the area along the road to visit a beach.
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
Omis has mountain climbing, ziplining, boat trips, white water rafting, ruins/castle remains with the most beautiful views. And don’t forget the restaurants and bars where one can enjoy the hustle and bustle.
PRICES
Prices differ per season so please check with us.
They start at €60 up to €125 per night on a two person basis and an extra person is €15. We charge a one off cleaning fee of €35 + tourist tax of 1,50 pp/pn.
